Layers, Layers, Layers
It’s officially REALLY COLD where I live and I’m consistently trying to figure out creative ways to bundle up without looking repetitive… blouses, sweaters, scarves, you name it! I also happen to work in an igloo office that has to be about 65 degrees everyday so even when I’m inside, I’m still trying to stay warm. The key to staying warm without looking like Randy from A Christmas Story is to layer up. The great thing about layers? You can always remove a layer if you start to feel too warm AND they keep your wardrobe versatile since it’s so easy to mix and match.
It’s no secret that my favorite accessory to every outfit is a giant, bulky infinity scarf. Honestly, it’s rare for me to complete an outfit without one. They’re super snuggly and keep you toasty warm while still looking fashionable. I have one in every neutral color, plus maroon but I’d love to invest in a hunter green or navy blue one as well.
Collared button ups are a semi-new style staple in my wardrobe (although plaid button-ups are not, which I consider a completely different species) and I’ve been choosing to layer up with them more and more. I’ll say it… button-ups are a lot of work and I’m lazy. Not only to put on and straighten out under sweaters, but to iron to a crisp as well but they’re well worth the extra effort. I love the way Gap blouses fit and I’ve heard great things about J. Crew too!
I. Love. Sweaters. I do. They make up the majority of my winter wardrobe. I try to keep my looks from becoming too stale by mixing and matching them with statement necklaces, scarves, and button-ups underneath. Paired with jeans, oxfords or equestrian-style tall boots, and a cute belt, I absolutely adore Ralph Lauren cable knit sweaters.
How do you stay warm in the winter? Are there any winter wardrobe staples you can’t live without?

I don’t go anywhere in the winter without my wool socks. A good pair of gloves too!
easy to achieve because it is compiled of so many basics that most of you have in your closet if you get warm you just take the jacket off and you still look put together!
